Magnificent Obsession

…my newest obsession is The Rose. This current fixation is not entirely new to me - over the years I have always planted roses, read books about them, collected “head vases” to put buds in, visited rose gardens, etc…

And, of course, with each move from a house, I would say goodbye to my roses, and would plan for the day when I would have a real rose garden.

Now, it’s all coming back.

So, I’ve been looking for new colors and varieties. Fragrance is important to me, so I love the old fashioned cabbage roses that knock you back with their scent…also, I have dreams of making my own rose water/perfume. Plus, I love to cut them and put them all over the house, so I need A TON of plants…

I’ve been searching the “wide world of web”, and here’s a few of my favorites so far:

”Gitte” (Germany) , “Judy Garland” (England)

”Cherry Parfait” (France) , “Heirloom” (USA)

”Midas Touch” (USA) , “Deep Secret” (Germany)

I found these beauties at “Heirloom Roses” (www.heirloomroses.com).

I can’t wait to order them, and watch them grow…

They will be like more children - Man, now I want to go to Africa…

BTW, I hope you have continued to pray for the children of Uganda (see former post “The Children of Uganda”) - I will go someday! Until then, please pray for all of the children of Africa.

Roses and children…they’re not so different, you know. They are both beautiful and require protection, care, and a place to bloom - to be all that God created them to be.

You may not be a rose fanatic, like me - but, loving and caring for children is something that everyone can appreciate.

Love…it’s a magnificent obsession. I hope you feel it today.

Peace.
