It was a cold morning for Florida…for me. So, we had a fire. Now my house smells wonderful…homey - like…Christmas.
You probably can smell it right now - Christmas. I hope so - it’s the most wonderful smell there is.
Even though it warmed up today, when I came in this afternoon it was still there. It still smells like Christmas to me.
I needed that.
When I went outside to cut roses, something caught my eye…
We have an outdoor cat.
I now have one less beautiful cardinal.
The female.
They may all stay away now. I think I want them to.
I’m devastated.
So, I needed that…the smell of Christmas.
It helped - it feels…safe.
I think I’m done writing for now. I think I’ll go bury my songbird…and cry a little.
Peace.

I love Christmastime and anything that reminds us of it
Maybe we can hope for snow
Anything could happen!
Love ya!
Put a bell on the cats collar….
It has snowed here before, the last time was about 15yrs ago and it was Christmas Eve!!
At 6:30 this morning there were thousands(?) of geese migrating past our house. I stood there for a few minutes
in the cold and watched. It really felt like winter.

Thanks, y’all for commenting…and for the “bell” advice - I love all my animals…I just want us all to live together in harmony, and sometimes I forget that cats, especially, are carnivorous. Listening to and watching the cranes tonight helped.
Thanks for reading - it means a lot. Peace.
