The Remains of the Day

So, this morning came too soon. Because of technological advances, we actually woke at 3:30 instead of 5:30. We did go back to bed when we realized it, but not really back to sleep so….

so, today started way too early.

I was excited to go to C3. Andrea spoke eloquently about her childhood and family issues. I know her story helped a lot of people. She did awesome!

I was in a lot of pain, but it’s always good to get to worship…to sing - to be with my C3 family. I would’ve been in pain at home or there…so I’d rather be there. Of course, though, I crashed when I finally got home. I took a bath so hot that my skin was bright red and I was sweating. Then, I slept and slept.

Then, we walked (walking is better than sitting) down to the Italian ice shop. I had a caramel sundae…with rum raisin ice cream!

I sat for a nice long time on the front porch - with my fur blanket and wool scarf…I probably looked like a dork - and watched the sun begin to fade…

I just have to make it a little longer…tomorrow morning - when I can see my doctor. At this point, I’m pretty much counting the hours. I’ve been told (during child birth, etc.) that I have a high pain threshold, but this pain is kicking my tail…it’s just so stinkin’ annoying!

Oh well, tomorrow’s coming.

Now I just have to figure out how to sleep. Maybe I should just eat rum raisin ice cream until I pass out in a sugar coma…

Just kidding! I know that’s nothing to joke about…I only ate a little of my sundae, so DON’T HATE!!!!!

So, it’s “good night” to another good day.

Peace to you all.

You love yourself some rum raisin ice cream, huh??! Ice cream places in walking distance ate dangerous…coldstone is too close to us…they already know what I want when I go in!! Feel better soon :)

It reminds me of my childhood…only then I didn’t have to worry about carbs or my blood sugar! It was such a simpler time…:-)
    Have a great night.

You’ve got me really curious to try some rum raisin ice cream! : ) I hope you get to feeling better soon…I’ll be praying for ya!
BTW– sitting on the front porch with a fur blanket on a day like today sounds…dreamy! : )

I have a love too… Cake Batter ice cream with pineapple and coconut from Cold Stone. It is like the most delicious pineapple upside down cake evah! I can totally relate to the obsession!
I hope you feel better after seeing your German doctor today! I love the Germans… got some in me too! That’s the whole “Fryfogle” thing!

What about the butterfinger cone? OH no. I hope your Doctor’s appointment goes well and you didn’t do anything serious to your back.

Andrea - love pineapple upside down cake…great, now I want cake! :-) Two things I can blame on my German ancestry: my obsession with bread - I could live on it, and my eyebrows…they’re out of control!! I get all the rest of my quirks from my bohemian/cherokee combo roots…

Jessy - I didn’t get a cone since I was eating it WHILE walking home…so I got a sundae in a bowl instead - But I love the butterfinger cones. Sometimes I save them for later and eat them with a cup of coffee…yum! Great now I want a Butterfinger! :-)
    Peace out, ya’ll.

Alison - the problem is I like to sit on the porch with my fur blanket even when it’s 75 and people are running by in shorts…
Oh well, I can get away with it for a few more days anyway with this weather. Thanks for the prayers. :-) Peace.

    Angie,
Jim has had disc problems for yrs. He had one ruptured and one bulging. Both inoperable. He manages the pain with heating pads, very careful massages ( you don’t want to massage the disc area) and pain meds.
I hope you “only” pulled or strained a muscle.
    Hope you’re better soon
(Didn’t Byron have cervical disc problems and surgery yrs ago?)
    Praying for a speedy recovery
    Chocolate helps everything!
