Tuesdays, that is - so often that’s what Tuesdays do for me, they make the long, dreary Mondays of life just fade away…
I don’t even know how - It’s not like anything spectacular happened today…just the regular stuff of life: cleaning the kitchen, running errands, fighting a loaded basket at Wal-mart, eating a microwave “Healthy Choice” meal…and wondering if it’s really all that “healthy”….
…just regular stuff.
But, the world often just looks different to me on Tuesday than on a Monday….a little more hopeful…a little more sunshine (even when it’s cloudy like today).
I actually smiled at people at Wal-mart when they crowded the aisles so it was difficult to get by….I thought, “That’s okay, I’ll just look at the lovely laundry detergent choices before me…it really is remarkable how many options we have….aren’t we blessed!”……..Wow, I’m kind of Stepford Wife-ish on Tuesdays…
…but I digress!
The point is that I smiled….I don’t think I did much of that yesterday….typical Monday!
I guess I need to make an effort to see Mondays like I see Tuesdays….maybe….
I even bought a turkey today…A TURKEY! I thought, “I think I’ll make a turkey this week…that would be nice - who says it has to be saved for Thanksgiving or Christmas…how about Wednesday night?…Happy Wednesday is a holiday, too…” (Yes, I do have these kinds of conversations with my own self in the freezer section of random grocery stores!).
Anyway…buying a turkey to celebrate “Happy Wednesday”, and looking at clothes for a 5 year old who is coming to the U.S. from Cuba, and intently studying a beautiful array of laundry cleaning accoutrement - all of these and more made me smile today…
It just felt really good to smile - the people at Wal-mart might think I’m a little nuts, but that’s okay…
It’s Tuesday!
I hope you smile today - and if you don’t feel like it, then go to Wal-mart and talk yourself into it!
Peace.

You made me smile today by this post!:) I’m also happy to know that I’m not the only one who has conversations with themselves at random stores…or anywhere for that matter!
THIS made me smile!
Thanks for writing it! …and I think it’s awesome that you found the blessing in the laundry detergent isle..
I think its a mini-miracle that you found your smile in Walmart! I’ll think of you the next time I venture there!
Turkey sounds great. I agree you can have it anytime you want. Nice to know I am not the only one who has conversations with myself.
Well I usually end up crying when I’m in Walmart (especially if I have the boys with me) but next time I’m going to remember this post and go ALONE so I can enjoy the beauty of the Walmart experience!
Thanks for the comment on my blog….are you trying to hint. I just need to bring my laptop to work!
