Once Upon a Time…

…in a land far away, I was a much more domestic being:  Living in a church “parsonage”, home-schooling my children, pregnant and feeding my family on a rural pastor’s salary (which was just barely above the poverty level).  But, I digress….

For some reason, I had a fleeting memory today at the grocery store.  I was trying to think of something easy to make for dinner, and my domestic days seemed to be a distant dream…

Then, on the soup aisle, I had an epiphany of sorts….

…in the form of “Beef Stroganoff”:

  • Campbell’s golden mushroom soup
  • Sour cream (about 2 times the amount of soup)
  • Wide egg noodles
  • Beef “stew meat” (cheap and already cut up!)

…cook meat, add in sour cream and soup to make a sauce…simmer….serve over noodles - voila!

Anyway, sometimes by-gone days can return, just in the nick of time…

…on the soup aisle! :-)

Peace.

You’re so domestic! Everytime I’m on the store aisles trying to think of something to cook for dinner all that comes to mind are names of restaurants! :)

Man that sounds good, and it actually sounds like something I can’t mess up (lol). So there is hope for an inner city pastor on a low budget (sometimes no budget) salary?

Kelli, Thanks for the props…I’m the queen of take-out, though! Thanks for the email, too btw! :-)
Alison, Glad you’re enjoying the tea - you definitely deserve to put your feet up and relax! :-)
DisneyCyndi, (Love your name, btw!) - I too need easy recipes…although I’ve been known to ruin mac-n-cheese! Byron and I will pray for you and your husband…you are really in the trenches! Be encouraged!! :-)
