Just So Ya Know…

I was reading Blonde Jokes today - remembering how I used to post the ones I thought were funny…until I ran out of clean ones…

…anyway…

So, I found the following joke and read it to Kayleigh:

“Two blondes had driven across the country to see Disney World in Florida.

As they approached it and got onto the final stretch of highway, they saw a sign saying “Disney World Left!”

After thinking for a minute, the driver blonde said “Oh well!” and started driving back home.”

So, Kayleigh thought for a second and said,

“I don’t get it!  How would they get home by turning left??”

Good thing Byron was in the room or we might still be trying to figure each other….and the blonde jokes out!

….and that is what happens when a brunette is raised by a TRUE BLONDE! :-)

Peace out, ya’ll!

The Remains of the Day

I know, I know…

So, I didn’t keep my promise to blog more…then, I wrote a new post and somehow deleted it….

I know, I know…

But, since I wrote - several days ago - things went downhill for me physically.  I think, at the moment, I’m getting better.  So, maybe I’ll blog more this week….What?  At least I didn’t promise!

I’ve got to get back on my feet anyway….the holidays are coming….the C3 Food Drop is coming….

…so much to do!  I can’t wait to go shopping for our “Christmas Family”!!!  I CAN’T WAIT!!!

DID I SAY I CAN’T WAIT?…

Well, I can’t.  Opportunities like this are what keep me going…especially when I feel so horrible physically.  It gives me...hope.  (As a side note, I’m still looking for my “shopping cart girl”…updates when I have them…).

It seems like I should blog longer since it’s been such a long time…but, that’s all I’ve got for now.

Maybe I’ll blog more later….MAYBE!

PEACE.

….among the living.

So, I haven’t blogged in a while….maybe a record for me.  I’ve been sick - usually, I still blog when I’m sick, but this time…I don’t know, I was just too sick…too weary to do it - Sorry!

So, what have I missed?

  • On Wednesday, my little sister, Laurie celebrated her birthday!  Happy Birthday, Laurie!!!  She’s also newly engaged….Yay!  We love Nicholas!!  Stay warm in Detroit….I love you!
  • On Thursday, the C3 staff spent their first full day in their new offices…finally having Internet around the last hour or so.  Byron is still finishing his office - but, at least the “Texas Orange” is on the walls…and the cowhides are on the floor!!  Plus, Happy Birthday, Karla…I love you and am so glad we got to spend time together this summer!
  • On Friday, I spent most of the day in bed, then got to spend time with the C3 Volunteers Friday night…I can’t express my gratitude for what this awesome group of people means to me…there are no words!
  • On Saturday, Ashley finally decided to start her own blog.check it out here.
  • On Sunday, I took enough advil and drank enough caffeine to make it through the C3 services…God really moved and I’m so glad he allowed me to be well enough to be a part of it.
  • Then, on Sunday afternoon I celebrated Amanda’s birthday!  Yay!  Wow, girl you’ve got a lot of kids for being only 22! :-)  I’m so glad you were born!
  • And now it’s Monday…and I slept in until 8 O’clock!!!!  (Thanks, Byb.) - and now I’m eating biscuits because I apparently need “comfort food”….I mean it’s FREEZING OUT THERE!!! - (What I really need is spinach…but, that’s just gross on a Monday morning…!).

…so, there you are - caught up on my week.  I’ll do better this week….promise! :-)

Peace.

Okay, so…..

I woke up very glad that I voted early!  Yay!!  I got up early so that I could straighten up for C3 staff meeting…it’s always nice to start the day with such a great staff!

Then, there were the huge-mongous cinnamon rolls I picked up “for the kids” at Ikea last night - There just happened to be one left over, just when I was looking for something to go with my coffee……

Just so you know, all’s well at Wal-Mart!  The mood was a little…odd, though.  It seemed to me like people were moving in slow-motion….distracted, somehow.  I don’t know what it means - just an observation.

They were playing Christmas music, though…so I was in heaven - I’m not sure about all those poor people who had to hear me hum along…LOUDLY, though.  (Sorry, random mildly scrooge-ish Wal-mart shoppers!).

Anyway, so I went to go get my “free Starbucks” for voting - I saved my sticker! - and discovered that what they were giving away wasn’t my “triple toffee nut latte”, so poor Byron had to pay for it!  (Sorry, husband who has a wife who’s mildly addicted…).

So, I figured to make this day seem totally “de ja vous-ish”, I decided to make Jambalaya tonight - well, that and the fact that Byron asked me to. For some reason, I’ve blogged so much about Wal-mart, Starbucks and Jambalaya that they just seem to go together now!

Plus, Jambalaya is just so darn fun to say….JAMBALAYA! :-)

Speaking of which, it’s not gonna cook itself, so….

Peace out.
