Have yourself a merry little new year…

Okay, so I’m a little late for Christmas wishes, so “Happy New Year!” will have to do.

Ashley is watching me type and judging me….I’m getting writer’s block now!  Ash, DON’T HATE!!  So, now…

…I got nothin’…

Oh well, happy new year people!  I’ll write more later when I’M ALONE!!!

Seriously…

Peace.

How would I feel then…

…so, if you read this blog, you know how I feel on Mondays.  They’re just not my favorite day….

But, this morning I keep thinking about how I would feel on this Monday…or any other day if I were in the shoes of someone else……someone like one of the moms of an adopted C3 family…..

You see, there’s one mother…with 3 little bitty kids - they’ve received notice that they are to be evicted on Christmas Eve.  She’s able to come up with half of the money she owes, but it’s not enough…..

You can read more about it HERE and HERE….

The difficulties so many families are facing are astounding….this is a hard time - especially financially - for everyone.  But, I’m reminded on this Monday that my complaints about this day are nothing compared to what one mother must feel…

Please pray for her - help if you can….but, mainly pray for all of these families.

We still have so much to do…so many lives to touch.  Somehow helping gives me hope….a purpose, beyond my disdain for Monday mornings….

…to think of how I would feel in someone else’s shoes.

Peace.

i got nothin’…

…i can’t think of a witty title - i’m not even sure why i’m blogging.  maybe it’s because monday is now the only day that i have decent blog stats…

…but, i stink at blogging on mondays, so it’s kind of a pain.

i made up something for dinner…it kind of resembled chili.  you know it’s bad when you lecture your kids about eating their food, then take a bite and decide that being a grown-up means you don’t have to eat your dinner if you don’t feel like it…

i washed laundry today, and tried to clean up the damage from the weekend…

but, by the end of dinner, the house looked worse than when i woke up this morning…

i helped nate with another project this weekend.  i thought it was pretty creative - apparently, the parents of the boy with the interactive display which lighted up and played music put me to shame…even though i woke up at 4 with ideas of how to make his project even better…

i’m BEGINNING my christmas shopping tomorrow…i don’t think i need to elaborate as to why this makes me feel like a loser…

and, now, here i sit on a monday night blogging about all the things that made me feel “loser-ish” today…

oh well, so continues my ongoing battle with mondays….

and the mondays always seem to win!  oh well….

here’s to tuesdays!  peace out!

Caught in a blizzard…

….okay, so, not really a blizzard…like with snow - but, a blizzard of activity….so, yeah, I’m gonna stick with my title….

…I do wish it would snow though….just for a little while, then it can go away.  …but, I digress.

So, I finally got my real tree - had to find one that didn’t cost as much as an artificial one…I mean, I love the smell and all…but, Avalon’s tree lot was too rich for my blood!  Three stops and a lot of sap later…voila!  (I love speaking French during the holidays! :-) ).

Now, I have tree #3 and #4 to decorate….#1 and #2 are done….and I still have to create a table-top “tree” out of spray-painted branches for my kitchen.  I saw this at “Pottery Barn” for about a gazillion dollars last year, so I just went home and cut branches off of a tree in the back yard…a little spray paint…and a little glitter (and ya’ll know how much I adore glitter!)…and VOILA!  C’est bon et tres belle!….I wonder how you say “glittery” in French? …but, I digress!

I also wanted to put a tree…and a train!!!….on the half-wall between the kitchen and the family room - so the kids could watch the train go around as they go upstairs!  But, alas, the train-tracks were too wide for the space….and I really don’t need to spend any more money on trees or trains….oh well, c’est la vie! :-)

I woke up at 4 thinking about all that needed to get done…then left for the lab at 6.  Wow, they took so much blood out of my arm….the nurse looked twice at the order and then looked at me like I must have the plague!  I really expected her to go put on a gas-mask before she continued….Zut alors!!

Then, I had to clean my house….

…let me just say that when “mom” is sick for a month….well, very bad things can happen to a domestic abode….VERY BAD THINGS!!!!

So, now I’m trying to “dig out”….

…and there we are back full circle to my whole blizzard analogy!  I love it when I can type long enough to justify a totally random title! :-)

I LOVE CHRISTMASTIME!!….seriously, I really do…

…even if it wears me slap out.  (Now that, my friends, is some good ole Alabama talk for ya!….see, I’m versitile with my linguistic skills!).

Le paix, mes amis!
