A Psalm…

Psalm 69 (New International Version)

Psalm 69

For the director of music. To the tune of “Lilies.” Of David.

picture-53

1 Save me, O God,
for the waters have come up to my neck.

2 I sink in the miry depths,
where there is no foothold.
I have come into the deep waters;
the floods engulf me.

3 I am worn out calling for help;
my throat is parched.
My eyes fail,
looking for my God.

picture-52

13 But I pray to you, O LORD,
in the time of your favor;
in your great love, O God,
answer me with your sure salvation.

14 Rescue me from the mire,
do not let me sink;
deliver me from those who hate me,
from the deep waters.

picture-46

15 Do not let the floodwaters engulf me
or the depths swallow me up
or the pit close its mouth over me.

16 Answer me, O LORD, out of the goodness of your love;
in your great mercy turn to me.

17 Do not hide your face from your servant;
answer me quickly, for I am in trouble.

picture-41

18 Come near and rescue me;
redeem me because of my foes.

29 I am in pain and distress;
may your salvation, O God, protect me.

picture-44

30 I will praise God’s name in song
and glorify him with thanksgiving.

31 This will please the LORD more than an ox,
more than a bull with its horns and hoofs.

32 The poor will see and be glad—
you who seek God, may your hearts live!

picture-33

33 The LORD hears the needy
and does not despise his captive people.

34 Let heaven and earth praise him,
the seas and all that move in them,

picture-39

35 for God will save Zion
and rebuild the cities of Judah.
Then people will settle there and possess it;

picture-32

36 the children of his servants will inherit it,
and those who love his name will dwell there.

Peace.

Seventeen…

Why do my children keep doing this to me?………growing up, that is…
Always hold my hand...

Always hold my hand...

My little, tiny Ashley turned 17 today.  I’m still in some stage of disbelief about this fact - she was only 6 lbs…just yesterday, wasn’t it?…tiny in size, but huge in spirit - so, I guess not that much has changed.  I can take some comfort in that.

Of my kids, Ashley (although the smallest) was always the “fighter” in the bunch - even compared to the boys.  But, most often than not, she was fighting for good and not evil:  Like the time a much bigger bully was hurting her “big sister”, Kayleigh, and Ashley gave him a pummeling he wouldn’t soon forget - even though she only weighed around 25 lbs. or so….all while wearing a frilly dress!

One of the things I’m most proud of in my life, is the fact that all of my children are compassionate even to the point of personal sacrifice - and Ashley embodies this, heart and soul!

She’s nearly an adult now….much to my personal conflict.  And a beautiful one - inside and out….

And I love you so...

And I love you so...

Of course, to me, she’ll always be my tiny little fighter…climbing trees in a frilly dress and an unfortunate, yet adorable, haircut she decided to give herself…..

but I digress….

Happy Birthday, my sweet Ashley.

I love you so!  Love, Mom
