Happy Wednesday…ode to Forrest and Jenny…

I guess because of the post I wrote yesterday (”Knowing Him Best“), I dreamed about the movie “Forrest Gump”. Let me explain:

In my dream, I could see Forrest trying to run with his braces on his legs, and I could hear Jenny yelling, “Run, Forrest, run!”.  All through the night, my mind kept flashing back to the moment when the braces fell off and Forrest began to run unfettered…like the wind.

This is what love does.  This is what a soul mate can do.  A woman can give a man the courage and strength to run - to break free of his failures and his past - to run and be strong.  And a man can give a woman the shelter she’s never known.  He can protect her from the things that haunt her…bulldozing the bad places and keeping her safe.

I don’t know why I dreamed of “Forrest Gump” - I wouldn’t have put it at the top of my list of romantic movies…

…but I guess it really is - it is a love story….

…and, you know, love wins! :-)

Have a happy Wednesday!

Keep on running!

Peace.

This Again…

Happy Wednesday.

So, tomorrow is the first day of May. Usually, I’m a huge fan of this time of year. I love springtime in Florida…or anywhere for that matter. London, in May, was especially beautiful…

But, this year May is something to work through…

I began blogging on May 16th, a year ago. It was a matter of survival back then…much more than just a hobby. I was re-reading some of my earliest blogs this morning…thinking back to how I felt a year ago. Probably not the best idea on a “Happy Wednesday”…but, oh well.

The spring, last year, was incredibly painful on many fronts. I think I’m just now coming to terms with how deeply the strife and turmoil affected me. So now I’ve spent a lot of time this spring thinking things like “a year ago today, I was…”. I guess it’s all a part of the healing process.

I know…I know, this isn’t really “Happy Wednesday” talk. Sorry. I guess that’s why I haven’t blogged much lately. My thoughts don’t really make for a very inspiring read. Sorry again.

Anyway, happy, happy Wednesday…it really is happy, after all - and a beautiful spring day to boot.

Do you every wonder where sayings like that come from: “To Boot”…what does that mean? Maybe it originated from pirates and they would pillage and plunder to get the “booty”…and so an additional bonus would be “to boot”…or maybe it has to do with a guy’s boot

These are the kind of things that I ponder…like this morning when I couldn’t remember whether it was an acre or a mile that has 5,280 feet in it…turns out it’s a mile - an acre has 43,560 sq. feet in it…

Now this is more like “Happy Wednesday” talk…and informational…to boot! :-)

So, have a happy, happy Wednesday. I’m currently trying to lighten my “it’s almost May” mood by watching “Dharma and Greg”…I really can relate to Dharma for some reason. I think if my parents had been hippies, I would’ve turned out a lot like her. I did spend a lot of time at the local health food store getting fresh carrot juice and grinding our own organic peanut butter…plus, Barbie wasn’t allowed in our house because my mom believed they sent the wrong message to young girls (they kind of objectify women)…hey, maybe I am “Dharma”…or was, in another life - Just Kidding! :-)

Anyway, Happy Wednesday. I hope you all have many miles…and acres of happiness. :-)
Peace out.

Maybe Next Week…

It’s Wednesday. I always celebrate “Happy Wednesday” on Wednesday…makes sense…otherwise it would be Happy…other day.

But we’re in the middle of moving this week, and I would rather…well, the list is pretty much endless as to what I would rather do than move…

It’s not even the “moving” that’s so bad…it’s the cleaning up afterward…the sorting through junk in the garage…the weeping…the sobbing…the screaming…

And then there are the vows of “never again”…I will be buried in the new house before I move again…my next move will involve guys in suits and a pine box…

Plus, a lot of bemoaning the fact that I never quite whipped the whole “pack rat” thing…

I have been threatening to float a rumor to all the “haters” out there that I would be devastating beyond repair if someone were to…say…burn the old house down…or something...i don’t know, they could be creative. (it could be quite a release of pent up hostility…) :-)
Anyway, I think I’ll celebrate “Happy Wednesday” next Wednesday…

…it’s just better for everyone.

Did you hear the joke about the blonde who was killed by her own junk, while moving, so they had her funeral at the Goodwill just to make it easier on everyone involved…

Just kidding…sort of.

Peace out.

To Be Happy…

So, it’s Wednesday again. Happy Wednesday!

I don’t know when I decided that Wednesday would be the day for happiness…I guess it’s kind of sad that I have to make an effort to be happy. I don’t, really. I just tend to err on the melancholy side when I write, so…hence: Happy Wednesday! :-)
I used to tell blonde jokes on Wednesday…but I have told all the ones worth telling. Of course, I AM one long never-ending blonde joke, so I should never be at a loss for material.

Speaking of: last night, Byron was putting some things into my top dresser drawer, and he started laughing. He pulled three things out and said, “This is SO YOU!” He laid the three things next to each other on the bed. They were 1) something feminine and frilly, 2) a single pink and gray argyle sock, and 3) a XXL old t-shirt with paint spots all over it….

Oh well, what can I say, I have my own organizational style.

I love those pink and gray argyle socks, and haven’t given up hope that the missing mate will someday reappear! :-)
Maybe I’ll go on Ebay and see if they have any argyle socks.

A little red bird has decided to make the tree by my front porch his home. He’s been there every day the past few days. Even when I don’t see him, I can hear him chirping in the bushes… I love him and think I’ll name him “Wednesday”. :-)
So, Happy - I’ve run out of blonde jokes so I need to tell lame stories of my disorganized dresser drawers and I love argyle socks and my new red bird named “Wednesday” - Wednesday!

Peace.
