The Remains of the First Day…of the rest of our lives.

It’s been a whirlwind - a crazy great hurricane of planning, work and prayers…and not just for today, but all the Sundays to come…all the C3 Sundays that lie before us.

It was beautiful and breathtaking - all of the volunteers, all of the expectant faces, all of the…seekers. Even the dreary, cold weather didn’t deter C3 from being a warm light. Even the four statues on the platform, weighing in the hundreds of pounds, didn’t stop the “Crew” from getting all the platforms ready to go in record time. Even the masses of visitors didn’t fluster the “Staff” and cause them to lose their smiles. Even the wave of new kids (coming in cold and sometimes grumpy) didn’t divert the “C3 Kids” team from their mission of making God’s love fun and easy to understand.

It was sooo early, sooo cold, sooo wet and dreary when C3 started the morning, but it didn’t stop us…it couldn’t!

The energy was incredible in both packed services. Many regular C3ers were standing and willing to give up their seats - whatever it takes for more to come in.

It was an incredible morning.

Then, the High Schoolers came over to hang out - more fun.

Now, it’s late and I feel awful…wonderfully, horribly, exhausted and exhilarated - I feel past the point of tired, teetering on delirium - getting sick (a kidney infection from no sleep, too much coffee and stress), and just plain worn out. It’s Sunday night, and tomorrow we’ll begin planning for doing it all over again next week…

…of course, job #1 is MORE SPACE!!

So, tonight I’ll try to rest and recuperate…because tomorrow is a brand new day (and since it’s a holiday, I plan to wear sweat pants ALL DAY!)

Good night to another awesome, crazy, exhausting, wonderful Sunday - I’m going to bed now so that I can start preparing for the next one…

Peace.

Where’s My Fainting Couch…

…so, I’m too tired to blog.

I posted a blog on the “Women of C3” site, and now I’m just too tired to do another one.

So, if you must read my pearls of wisdom (ha) for your day to feel complete, then check that site out…

For now, I’ve got a date with a ruby red fainting couch….

too tired to blog

(sometimes it pays to be a Drama Queen! :-))

Peace to you.

Free Falling…

They’re changing the locks on Byron’s office today.

I’ve been up since 4, so I’m beyond tired - but…

…they’re changing the locks today, so we had to make sure we’re completely “out”.

It does feel…weird - the finality of it all.

Of course, we’re excited about the move - there’s mostly that, but also a little being overwhelmed and the tiniest bit being terrified. It’s a little like jumping off a cliff with no safety clips or ropes…no safety net - like “free falling”…

But, I’ll have to process how I’m feeling about all this another time. There’s too much “else” to do today.

Byron spoke on Nehemiah Sunday morning.

So, I was reminded that no matter what happens: Sandballot’s abuse (Ren & Stimpy), difficulty, exhaustion, working while carrying your “sword” - no matter what, we don’t come down off the wall…ever.

I just have to pray, like Nehemiah, “…strengthen our hands.”

Strengthen me.

Peace.
