I’ve written about my nephew Kael, and his condition, before… (Here: “Please…”
and here:“To Whom It May Concern”).

Kael
….and today, as we celebrated his brother Ronin’s birthday, I was reminded to keep praying for Kael -
….to never stop.
I witnessed one of his seizures today, for the first time. It was horrific…
….and my sister and brother-in-law (Katie and Michael) deal with this reality every second of every day. It’s always life-threatening and potentially life-altering.

So, in the remains of this day, I’m simply asking that when you whisper your prayers tonight…please remember little Kael. Please…
I thank you from the deepest part of my heart.
Peace.
So, even though I’ve been trying to bribe her all day into telling everyone she’s only turning 13, (how am I going to be “29″, if she’s 16?…I’m just sayin’!!!),
Anyway…even though I’ve tried to suspend the hands of time, my youngest daughter, ASHLEY, is insisting on turning 16!!!!!!

Ashley came into the world having to be a fighter…and she still is. I love her wit, her toughness and her complete lack of pretense.

She’s a free-spirit, my Ash, and I’m so glad that she has never lost that….I still remember when she used to climb trees in her frilly dresses or beat up the bully (twice her size) that was hitting her big sister…
.
Don’t ever lose your individuality or your love of all kinds of people without judgment, Ash. Your dad and I are so proud of the strong young woman you’ve become.

Happy Sweet Sixteen, Ashamaly - I’ll even sing to you if you want (I know how much you love that!
).
I love you so!
It’s the first day of fall! Welcome Autumn, I love you so….
I love all the trappings of Fall…
I’m having “fun” speed cleaning…which just means I clean like a whirlwind…for a minute, then I stop and do something else for a minute….then back to cleaning…..etc….
This never worked when my kids were home all day. Just when I would tackle one problem area…they would (mainly the boys, of course) create a whole new “problem area”…it was a vicious cycle!
But, today I’m letting little things make me happy…
…the smell of Pledge and Windex…the fact that I don’t have to wear any makeup…..and beautiful pics of mountain flowers…

So, that’s my Monday plan….
peace out…

Peace to the out...dog!
so, apparently, my wrestling match with the wal-mart basket aggravated my “issues” with the disc in my lower back…
when did i get so stinkin’ old?!!
i woke up the next morning feeling like someone had beat me!! maybe i need to work-out more…or ever.
so, it’s made this saturday interesting -
but:
- kayleigh ran to the grocery store.
- ashley cleaned the kitchen - and lectured the boys about picking up their “junk”!
- the boys…well, put away their toys and clean laundry…and got along…sort of.
- byron rearranged our bedroom - while i “supervised”…and gave moral support…
- ashley helped me get a pot of gumbo boiling…so we won’t starve while i’m out of commission.
- it’s raining while the sun is out…so there’s a rainbow somewhere.
- i refuse to look like an invalid tomorrow morning on the platform, so…BRING ON THE ADVIL!!
- with our new bedroom arrangement, i can see the waterfall from the bed…
- maybe the rainbow will shine in through the window…or it could thunder, that would be just as nice.
so, anyway, life goes on even when it’s not how you planned for it to be. i’m just glad it’s a saturday and i can lay around all day and “supervise” (thanks to my family
).
pain meds are kicking in, so i’m gonna sign out now…
peace.
