Happy “Moss Park” Wednesday!

…so, we’ve been working on our “C3 Day at Moss Park“, so we’ve been making several trips out there.

Being a “practical native” (I moved here when I was one) of Central Florida, I am always drawn to the indigenous and undeveloped parts of this area…there are so few left!

At Moss Park, I’m taken back to my childhood, when so much of Central Florida still was covered in palmettos and live oaks with weeping moss…

I’m so glad there are protected areas (thank you, Teddy Roosevelt!) where my children and grandchildren will be able to experience Florida the way that I remember it as a child - wild and untouched…

This morning, we saw a dozen wild turkeys, 10-12 deer and, of course, the red eyed cranes were EVERYWHERE!

So, “C3 Day at Moss Park” (now scheduled for the last Sunday in March - March 30th) will be a beautiful time for our community of faith to unwind and get to know each other in a relaxed setting…it’s going to be an awesome day!!

Pictures are coming soon…

until then:

Happy, Happy Wednesday! :-)
Peace out.

Thanksgiving Pt. Two

A few days before Thanksgiving, Byron surprised me with a trip to Galveston Island. I wrote more about this here. The ferry ride over was interesting because it was extremely foggy - we couldn’t see anything around us except fog, seagulls and storks.

That night, we took a tour of the island and it’s historic landmarks - by a horse drawn carriage!

We all had fun with family. Kayleigh and Ashley looked sweet on Thanksgiving Day - and Kayleigh and Barry enjoyed the day together, too.

It was a lovely holiday….now we’re getting ready for Christmas!!

Peace.

Thanksgiving Revisited Pt. One

We went to Texas for Thanksgiving this year, and I’m finally posting some pictoral highlights. The cute little donkey is my favorite…

We saw some really cool animals:

These are just a few highlights…more to come later.

Peace.

Question…

…if I-10 is completely closed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana - and it looks like an episode of 24 with blockades, police cars, and a sign that says “command post” - and instead of going 70 mph, you’re forced to go 17 mph, how long will it take to get to Texas…

…oh good, now it’s raining - and the crack in our windshield (long story) is almost stretched the whole way across - (at least, if we do have to make an underwater escape (previous post about my ocd “issues”), it won’t take much to break out.

I love traveling - It’s always an adventure…

But, we’re passing the time by watching (for Byron and me it’s actually listening) the movie “Evan Almighty” - I absolutely love this movie. It inspires me…it lifts me.

Noah was pretty barbaric…

This trip is pretty barbaric too - and not so much in the “barbaric grace” kind of way…more like “Gladiator”…or maybe “Titanic” - Okay, I really need to get off the whole death by drowning thing…

Really, we’re having fun…the Bledsoe way - there will be lots of comedic stories to tell (they usually involve natural disasters and things like that…a 411 for any of you who plan to travel with us…EVER).

We’re making some progress - now we’re going 50 mph! Yea!

More later. Peace out.
