Uninspired…

it’s saturday.

it’s raining.

i’m sitting and feeling…uninspired.

i’ve read a lot today - hoping for some inspiration…nothing. i just discovered that a lot of other people have had moments of sheer brilliance…not me.

so, maybe i’ll just not think about the fact that i can’t think of anything to say. there are worse things…right?

the past few nights i’ve had the most realistic and dramatic dreams. i’ve spent hours after waking trying to remember what happened. so, how can mind be so filled with thoughts and questions while i’m sleeping - only for me to awake to the total opposite?

maybe i should just go back to sleep.

oh well, it’s saturday. people rarely read on saturday.

maybe i’m not really uninspired at all, maybe i’m just dreaming that i am…

oh well, by the time i figure it out, it will be time to go to sleep again.

i’m exhausted from all of this uninspired thinking.

peace.

Saturday, Survivor Man, and Sugar-Boy

So, it’s Saturday and we’re cleaning…again. This is what civilized people do on a Saturday - at least that’s what I’m telling myself.

I gave Sugar-Boy a bath so he could sit on my lap and watch YouTube videos with me…He really enjoys this. Last night I discovered that he had made himself a little “nest” under my bed. He had dragged various items related to me under there…my laptop bag (the leopard one, of course!), one of my night-shirts, and both of my gold ballet-flats (he was sleeping in my shoes!). So, I got the message that he was needing my attention…missing me. I have to admit, it felt nice. So, after his bath (which always includes tons of high-pitched baby talk), I overheard Byron telling Sugar-Boy - in no uncertain terms - “…just remember, she loves me more!”.

Oh well, what did I do to deserve so much male attention?…

So, now we’re all taking a break and watching “Survivor Man” on The Discovery Channel. It’s pretty amazing.

Sugar-Boy is not impressed, though. He prefers the YouTube videos…especially music videos. I think he’s particularly fond of John Mayer and Josh Groban. He doesn’t care for Sarah McLaughlin, though. I think her voice is too high and lilting for his ears…I love it, though - especially, “In the Arms of the Angels”.

Wow! This is quite a random post. It’s kind of a random day, I guess.

Well, back to “Survivor Man” - he’s eating a turtle! I don’t think that’s on my healthy eating plan…although, it wouldn’t really surprise me at this point.

Great! Now I’m hungry…

(The boys ate all the ‘Nilla wafers! It’s for the best - keeps me from being tempted.)

Here’s a quote from Mark Twain that I thought kind of fit. (I don’t even know why, but I never do!):

She was not quite what you would call refined. She was not quite what you would call unrefined. She was the kind of person that keeps a parrot. (M.T.)

Gotta run! Peace out.

Updates from the Edge…

…the edge of - I don’t know! Fill in the blanks. Definitely, sanity…or losing it.

Anyway, here’s a few thoughts from wherever I am:

*I love it when people comment on my blog - it makes me feel connected.

*I hate it when a post has been out there for several hours…or ten seconds, for that matter, and I discover a spelling or grammatical error - I detest that immensely!!!

*I love a clean house - especially a clean bedroom that smells like Pledge…but I’m not a huge fan of the actual cleaning of my whole house…it’s exhausting (but at least I’ll sleep well and dream of…furniture polish?).

*My dogs are getting groomed today - I can’t tell you how much this excites me! Sugar Boy will be even more lovable all clean with bows in his hair!!! I can’t wait to see him!

*What does it say about my life that I am so looking forward to seeing my 4 lb. dog’s hairdo? - I’ll think about that later!

*What is “millsberry”, and why does my six year old continue to be obsessed with it?

*We have no carpet in our house. Too many pets and allergies. Keeping the floors in this house clean - with so many pets and kids - is nauseous-making…

*Again, how does my microwave end up looking like a crime scene?

*When Sugar Boy gets home, I think I’ll dress him up in his camping outfit…

More later - gotta go scrub some floors!

Peace out.
