To Be Happy…

So, it’s Wednesday again. Happy Wednesday!

I don’t know when I decided that Wednesday would be the day for happiness…I guess it’s kind of sad that I have to make an effort to be happy. I don’t, really. I just tend to err on the melancholy side when I write, so…hence: Happy Wednesday! :-)
I used to tell blonde jokes on Wednesday…but I have told all the ones worth telling. Of course, I AM one long never-ending blonde joke, so I should never be at a loss for material.

Speaking of: last night, Byron was putting some things into my top dresser drawer, and he started laughing. He pulled three things out and said, “This is SO YOU!” He laid the three things next to each other on the bed. They were 1) something feminine and frilly, 2) a single pink and gray argyle sock, and 3) a XXL old t-shirt with paint spots all over it….

Oh well, what can I say, I have my own organizational style.

I love those pink and gray argyle socks, and haven’t given up hope that the missing mate will someday reappear! :-)
Maybe I’ll go on Ebay and see if they have any argyle socks.

A little red bird has decided to make the tree by my front porch his home. He’s been there every day the past few days. Even when I don’t see him, I can hear him chirping in the bushes… I love him and think I’ll name him “Wednesday”. :-)
So, Happy - I’ve run out of blonde jokes so I need to tell lame stories of my disorganized dresser drawers and I love argyle socks and my new red bird named “Wednesday” - Wednesday!

Peace.

Florida Blizzards…and other such dreams

…we got up at five. byron made me a fire. it’s cold for florida…in the 40’s.

i dreamed i was trying to save a one-winged cardinal from my cat - when i finally caught it (it was inside!), i went to put it outside, and i couldn’t open the door because of the blizzard (…we have blizzards in florida so often!) - five foot snowdrifts blocked the way. it’s probably a metaphor for something…

…so, i figured i might as well just get up and put on another load of laundry.

the fire is beautiful, though.

i hope the real songbirds are okay…and my roses.

good morning.

peace.

Little Thoughts…

…I promise. this is not my post for the day - I just found these two beautiful quotes, and I thought they would make nice thoughts for the day.

As an aside, my songbirds are mocking me! They are singing up a storm, but each time I try to photograph them, they disappear…but I can still hear them. I think they are having fun being coy.

So here are some beautiful words for the day:

“I’d rather learn from one bird how to sing than to teach ten thousand stars how not to dance.”

“The earth laughs in flowers.” (e. e. cummings)

Just some little thoughts…

I hope you see the beauty all around you today.

Peace.

Return of my Songbirds

they’ve returned.

they’ve forgiven me.

three cardinals.

two blue-jays.

two others i’ll have to look up. (i think they’re sparrows).

they ate, played, sang…acted like this is their home again.

they’ve returned, and all is right with the world…

peace.
