The Monday After the Thing in the Thing…

…so maybe I should’ve thought about quitting Starbucks on any other day but the Monday after…well, I’ll just call it that: the Monday after!

But, Byron made me a very good homemade coffee, and I get to stay in today and try to get my wits about me again. Seriously, since my last “episode” I’ve had trouble stringing together sentences. Byron will ask me a question and I will inevitably answer something like, “Uhh, you know the thing in the thing…”. Typing is not much better - it took me three tries just to type the word “Starbucks” correctly…of course that might be the grief talking! :-)

I’ve got lots to do today. Byron says that he thinks they know my little shopping cart girl at the Rescue Mission…where to find her. So, I’ve got to try to track that down. And Kayleigh’s graduation is coming up on Friday, so Byron’s parents are arriving this week. My closet is beginning to look like…well, I’ll come up with a good analogy when I get better. Wow, analogies are like my favorite thing ever, but I can’t think right now…oh well, it is the Monday after.

Anyway, my closet needs some serious attention…and I probably should venture upstairs and tackle the kid’s rooms at some point! Okay, now I’m giving my headache a headache…

I think I’ll blog later when it’s easier to…put together a sentence and then type it!

Peace.

Happy Blogaversary…oh yeah, and goodbye Starbucks!

oh yeah, so i’ve now been officially blogging for one year.

woo-hoo!…ow! that makes my head hurt. so does thinking…and now since my new favorite thing to ponder is compound interest, my head is killing me. but, on the up-side: if i just invest my “starbucks” money in a low risk mutual fund for the next forty years, i could accrue over a million dollars…

…that could buy a whole lot of headache medicine - and fund a village in Africa…and open a Dream Center…and adopt some orphans…and - wow this headache is a doozy. maybe if i just dream about all of this it won’t hurt my head so much.

the baptisms went great! it’s been fun to have people in our home so much lately.

anyway, now i’m going to try to sleep off my shenanigans from this morning…and dream of accruing interest and mutual funds and…

…well, of finding my little shopping cart girl and taking her to get ice cream and every pair of shoes we can find that she likes…and dreams like that.

okay, so the thought of that has just ended my starbucks addiction…cold turkey. i’m completely serious - every time i want to buy another over-priced latte, i’ll just imagine her face…

i have to go now…it’s bad enough to try to type with a doozy of a headache, but now i have serious planning to do, all while becoming ever-more emotional…hey, i’m a drama queen! it’s what i do! :-)
so, all-in-all, it’s been a pretty good…but interesting, day.

and now off to dream.

peace to you…

Pepto, Haagen-Dazs, and Naptime…

Is it bad to drink Pepto-Bismol right from the bottle like it’s a coke?

Well, that’s what I’ve been doing since yesterday. Evidently, I’ve picked up some kind of stomach bug…

…and since I’m morally opposed to vomiting under any and all circumstances, I’m just left to suffer for days. But, I like the taste of Pepto-Bismol, so at least that’s something.

I don’t even feel like drinking my Starbucks…I am drinking it…I just don’t feel like drinking it. Everything just tastes like Pepto-Bismol anyway…

I really need to get better - I have so much to do. There’s still a ton to do with moving out of the old house…I’ve seriously neglected my emails…I think my friends have given up on me…and the whole “working out” thing - well, when I said I’m bringing lazy back, I meant it.

But, I’m going to see my German doctor in a little while, so I’m sure I’ll be feeling better soon. Of course, he’s going to chide me on my poor eating habits and quote scripture to me about how my body is a temple…

Oh well, I deserve it.

By the way, Haagen-Dazs makes a phenom ice cream called “Caramel Cone”…it’s to die for (just don’t tell my doctor). :-)
You know how they say “You’ve made your bed, now you have to lie in it”? Well, I’m taking that literally, so I’m gonna take a nap now…

Peace out.

Happy, Happy…(it is Wednesday, isn’t it?)

So, it’s a beautiful day. Sunny and warm. Just like spring should be in “The Sunshine State”.

I potted some red geraniums on the front porch a couple of days ago…I LOVE red geraniums…they are such a happy flower. Now, I’m trying to find a good spot for my bird feeders…I miss my red cardinals so.

I also need to find a good spot for my roses - not on the back porch, though - Axel loves to eat my plants - and I don’t think the thorns would deter him at all…oh well, that’s my Axel Barbarian! (emphasis on the “barbarian” part). He’s made mince-meat of a couple of gardenias I was getting ready to plant…mainly to cover the “big dog scent” that’s taking over the porch area….I guess he didn’t want me to plant something that would make things smell “pretty”…barbarian that he is!

I can’t believe that this coming Sunday is Easter. This year is already going by so fast…at least spring is on the way! :-)

Now I can become completely obsessed again with my flowers and songbirds…and forgo my obsession with rum raisin ice cream and butterfinger cones!

I still haven’t made it to yoga class…I will, though. I can feel the yoga-ish-ness building. I think yoga will also be one of my springtime obsessions…

Anyway, Happy Wednesday. Happy, happy - it’s almost Easter, so springtime is officially here, and I’m gonna be a rose-planting, bird-watching, yoga-doing, obsessed Florida girl…yea! Happy Wednesday! Happy, happy - I’m not gonna be a hibernating-cuz-it’s-too-cold, sad because it’s too cloudy, Jewel-listening, rum raisin eating, non-yoga doing, just as obsessed only with the wrong stuff, Florida girl!

(Of course, my obsession with Starbucks is multi-seasonal…What? I can’t be expected to be a total chameleon! Great espresso makes a cold/dreary day warmer and a bright and sunny day that much brighter and sunnier!) :-)
So, Happy Wednesday…and peace out.
